1956 Kaname, Opel Sedan Fire Chief Car in Original Box

1956 Kaname, Opel Sedan Fire Chief Car in Original Box

Phenomenal mint in original box example of a 1956 four door Opel Sedan Fire Chief Car. Battery operated with tethered remote control. Manufactured by Kaname; one of the smaller Japanese companies and distributed in the U.S. by Cragston. Also one of the very few tin litho vehicles not listed in Smith & Gallagher's book on Tin Toy Cars (Commercial vehicle edition).

The car is an accurate representation of the actual vehicle right down to the Opel logo above the front grille (although it may be difficult to see because of the lighting). Brilliant red tin litho throughout (of course) and loaded with chrome plated accessories, plus solid rubber whitewall tires and front and rear celluloid windshields. Electric functions include forward or reverse movement, siren and flashing domelight. Best of everything works flawlessly. Also includes original handheld vinyl battery box with original Kaname dry cell label. All metal construction. The only plastic piece is the domelight.

Original box beautifully color illustrated with full panel drawing of the Fire Chief Car with driver and passenger. Shaded to represent night time the brilliancy of the domelight and the obvious high rate of speed signal the emergency at hand, while the city sleeps silently in the background.

Size: 10½".
